Abstract

The fields of futures studies and social innovation share a number of common concerns. Both focus on future challenges, new developments and processes of transformation. However, a closer examination shows several structural differences. As interest in social innovation research continues to grow, both fields stand to benefit from an exchange of ideas and knowledge. This chapter highlights areas of futures studies that could serve as starting points for such an exchange.
