Abstract

An efficient approach to detecting the presence of liquid in microplates with a standard camera is proposed. The method is based on a modified Hough transformation followed by histogram-based thresholding. In comparison to previously suggested approaches, this method is computationally inexpensive. Effectiveness is evaluated by an empirical test setup. © 2012 IEEE.
