Networking and Knowledge Transfer in the Field of Data Science

Project: Funded research

Project Details

Description

The goal of this cross-border initiative is to establish a collaboration among research institutions in the specialized field of data science and, above all, to ensure sustainable knowledge transfer to the regional economy to create an innovation advantage. Specifically, the project pursues the following two objectives:

Objective 1: Cross-university knowledge alignment
Individual universities focus on specialized areas of data science. Networking and exchanging insights across these focus areas enable the development of innovative connections between sub-disciplines (e.g., big data analysis, visual analytics, data security & mobility, etc.) and provide deeper understanding of each university's areas of expertise.

Objective 2: Knowledge transfer to the economy and strengthening regional competencies
This objective involves concrete steps to enhance the innovative capacity of the regional economy by leveraging modern data science technologies and methods. Activities carried out with businesses to foster idea generation are aligned with modern approaches in the field of innovation (e.g., design thinking in product development or user experience design for innovation).

Target groups include companies, especially SMEs, research institutions and groups, cluster organizations, technology transfer offices, statutory interest groups, and competence centers.
