Content Creation with Generative Artificial Intelligence for Interactive Educational Technologies

Educational technologies (EdTech) enhance learning through digital tools such as custom mobile apps and websites, learning management systems, and story-based learning experiences, supporting personalized learning and continuous professional development. While the global EdTech market, projected to reach $605 billion by 2027, is growing rapidly, with significant interest in Austria, creating learning materials remains a major bottleneck, limiting scalability and increasing costs. Generative AI offers a solution by efficiently producing and adapting multimedia-rich content, but Austrian companies, especially SMEs, hesitate to adopt AI due to a lack of expertise and the rapid pace of AI advancements. To reach a broad audience, generative AI solutions must be user-friendly for content creators with minimal technical expertise. This requires an innovative human-AI co-creation process to achieve and refine common goals, where humans and AI collaborate to effectively create new learning experiences.

The GenAIedTech project aims to address the content creation bottleneck in EdTech by researching and developing generative AI and human-AI co-creation processes. The project focuses on three stages of learning experience generation: creating and analyzing learning materials, planning the learning experience, and implementing it for end users.
